Sharing with you my messy and playful approach to sketching when I go on-location. Yesterday I found a nice angle of the famous Thian Hock Keng temple at Telok Ayer street here in Singapore and I was immediately captivated. I always try to find interesting coloured shapes, textures and strong flowing lines within a scene to create an interesting mess. Starting with a strong focal point helps to keep me on track too. What is your approach to sketching on-location?

Seeing the progression is so cool! And I like that you do not draw exactly what you see - like the tree.
Dear Paul, My name is Tatiana Bashlacheva, I am a representative of Artistic Paints Plant “Nevskaya palitra” from St. Petersburg, Russia. I was exploring the faculty of the Urban Sketchers Symposium, which will be held in Singapore soon, and I found out, that you use watercolors in your works. Unfortunately I didn't find your e-mail address, that's why I'm writing here. We would like to offer you to test the quality of our paints. Could it be interesting for you? I kindly ask you to answer me to my e-mail: bashlacheva@artpaints.ru.
I wish you every success in your creative work and look forward to your early reply! Thank you!
