Flask & Baby boots

Flask & Shoes
Just managed to complete my still-life which I started a few days ago. I decided to let this sit for a few days because some parts were quite a challenge to paint. I was trying to connect the shoes to the whole composition. You might be able to see the extra around this area. This tiny pair of shoe from my childhood has since been encased entirely in silver for preservation.

My family kitchen sink

Meditation from my kitchen sink
Meditation from my family kitchen

I have not drawn or painted for days and decided that I will do something simple today. Hands get rusty when I put off drawing for too long. My family kitchen never fails to inspire and found the perfect spot at the sink. My mother keeps the kitchen in tip-top condition just in case you are wondering why is my kitchen wall so dirty. My watercolour might have given the wall a slightly grime and dirty impression. That circular thingy on the left is our very well used wooden chopping board.

Back Home

At Home
I have been reading an excellent book by Shirley Trevena and decided followed her advice by grabbing hold of a few mundane household items at my parent's place and set them up on our dining table.

Milo is my favourite breakfast drink and I will usually add a spoonful of coffee. My folks still use the old fashion thermo flask (in red) to store hot water.

Still Life

I was eager to try out 2 new watercolours I bought earlier. Quinacridone Gold by Winsor&Newton and Helio Blue Reddish by Schmincke. They were very lovely and very brilliant colours.
